For example: Astley Sports College in Tameside Sport England provided a grant of Ł325,000 in December 2004 to increase community access by enhancing its sports hall, fitness suite and creating a multi-use activity room. Building work took two years to complete, during which time Sport England made small payments as and when work was completed with the full grant drawn down in March 2007 on final completion. This facility is now helping local people use the college facilities and enjoy the lasting benefits of sport. We encourage all projects to claim money as quickly as possible.
